At RPM Pawnbrokers, we take our legal requirements very seriously and we must advise you that when we are buying or creating pledges, we are obliged to ask questions about the items and perform relevant checks.

You will be required to bring identification with you so please read below for what is required by us:


A government issued document incorporating; The customers full name and photograph and either – residential address or date of birth. Government issued documents with a photograph include:

  • Valid passport

  • Valid photocard driving licence (full or provisional)

  • National Identity Card

  • Firearms certificate or shotgun licence

  • Identity card issued by the Electoral Office for Northern Ireland


OR


A government, court or local authority-issued document (without a photograph) which incorporates the customer’s full name and is also supported by a second document (which can be either a government-issued, or judicial authority issued, public sector body, a regulated utility company, or another FCA-regulated firm in the UK financial services sector) which incorporates:
The customers full name and either residential address or date of birth. Government issued documents without a photo ID include:

  • Old style valid driving licence

  • Recent evidence of entitlement to a state or local authority funded benefit (including housing benefit and council tax benefit), tax credit, pension, educational or another grant.

  • Instrument of a court appointment (such as liquidator or grant of probate).

  • Current Council Tax demand letter or statement

Examples of other documents to support a customer’s identity include current bank statements, or credit card statements, issued by a regulated financial sector firm in the UK or EU, or utility bills. In practical terms, for face to face verification, production of a valid passport or photocard driving licence (so long as the photo is in date) should enable most individuals to meet the identification requirements for AML/Criminal and Terrorist Financing purposes.

So long as Enhanced Due Diligence is not triggered.

When you conduct a transaction on our website, as part of the process, we collect personal information you give us such as your name, address and email address. Your personal information will be used for the specific reasons stated above only.

We collect such Non-personal and Personal Information for the following purposes:

  1. To provide and operate the Services;

  2. To provide our Users with ongoing customer assistance and technical support;

  3. To be able to contact our Visitors and Users with general or personalized service-related notices and promotional messages;

  4. To create aggregated statistical data and other aggregated and/or inferred Non-personal Information, which we or our business partners may use to provide and improve our respective services;
